We sneak up on ArtFire shops!

Every Tuesday at 8pm CST the "Un-sub" (unsuspecting the ArtFire shop we'll be sneaking up on) will be announced and then everyone who is able to will go and purchase from their studio (you do not have to be a member of the ning to participate--see all the ways you can participate here). We hope that our efforts will help encourage sellers that may be discouraged with their lack of sales.

On ArtFire, I'm not just a seller, but I'm also involved with a number of Guilds. Guilds are great way to meet other sellers while working towards a common goal. The goals for each Guild are specific to that particular Guild, but many are focused on promoting the member's shops.

Have you heard of Shop Windows at ArtFire yet? It's a new and wonderful place where people can browse through categories that contain Rapid Carts of talented ArtFire artists! I have just applied to have my shop's Rapid Cart placed in the Paper Goods category! They also have a link exchange! If you're an ArtFire artist I highly recommend checking out Shop Windows at ArtFire. If you're not on ArtFire yet, please check it out and bookmark Shop Windows at ArtFire for later :)
So every crafter has to figure out where to find the best supplies at the best prices. Sometimes this can be a daunting task. Don't worry though! I'm about to fill you in on one of the BEST places to find everything you're looking for! It's the Etsy Supply Street Team (ESST)! I'm a part of this team and have the pleasure of sharing the team with amazing artists! Just some of the things that the team offers is fabric, beads and jewelry making supplies, paper and scrapbooking supplies, patterns, yarn and MUCH MORE! Check out the team blog for a listing of all the shops involved in this team.

1.
Poe and Ice Bat - So Happy Together, 2. Day 3, 3. Elvira Mistress of the Dark by Electric Tiki Design, 4. Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead!

I thought I would share just a few of my favs from around Flickr. It's no secret that I'm a fan of creepy, quirky and crafty things. The above group of pix really captures some of my most favorite things: kooky crafty critters, the Nightmare Before Christmas, Elvira, and The Wizard of Oz.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Today I wrote an exam (thank goodness that is over!), hung out with my best friend, and now I'm relaxing with my man. All the dogs are relaxing too. It's a peaceful household :)

I should also mention that St. Patrick's Day is coming up quickly! I'll be running "Animal Lovers Day" on St. Patrick's Day to teach kids how to be humane citizens. It should be fun :) My shop has a few goodies that are perfect for St. Patrick's Day. Check them out if you're interested:

I know there must be a good number of crafters in London, Ontario. I think it would be great to unite local crafters! If you live in London or area (Ontario) and are a crafter, please visit the flickr group that is devoted especially to you! I can't wait to connect with follow crafty Canadians! At the group you'll find a photo gallery of the projects we're up to, and a discussion forum to share ideas and get to know each other. Also, feel free to comment on this post if you're "a local" so other "locals" can find you :)

... if you haven't yet, you really should!  It's the quickest growing handmade artist community on the web right now!  I have absolutely fallen in love with the Art Fire community and have turned my focus away from etsy and on to Art Fire. I feel that Art Fire is a MUCH better community for me and the tools for the verified members are out of this world! They have really thought through the needs of the sellers and buyers on the community. ... and i gotta tell you, i was completely devoted to etsy but after giving Art Fire a serious look i can't go back to focusing all my attention on etsy knowing that there's something better out there (in my opinion). I will continue to keep my etsy shop open, but most of my products and efforts will be focus on Art Fire. If you love the handmade artist community and the wonderful things they create i highly recommend that you check out Art Fire! You'll be so glad you did - especially around Christmas time when you're looking for those perfectly unique gifts! I can't say enough good things about Art Fire but I'll send this post before I start boring you all! ha ha. Just go check out all the goodies over there! Happy hunting!!!

P.S. if you want to get on board with Art Fire I would suggest doing it now! They have an amazing deal on right now and after all the "$7 Deal" verified membership are gone, you'll surely regret not getting in there before they were gone!
