I hope everyone had a great week last week! We just finished a long weekend here in Ontario, which would have been great if I wasn't sick all weekend! C'est la vie!

In the past week I've taken over as Editor of the Marketing Department at Handmade News. All of you who are close to me know how exciting I am about this. HMN is going through some changes at the moment so the Editor profile isn't updated yet but I can assure you it will be soon :)

I wanted to share with you all the awesome articles that got published last week in the Marketing Department. Here they are:

1. Make Your Site Network Friendly
Kristin's first article published on HMN! We're so happy to have her join our team! She's a fabulous writer so be sure you don't miss any of her helpful articles. In this article she points out how to make your site network friendly and why it's so important.

2. Marketing Strategies Interview with Melissa Hamel-Smith of Kaotic Ekko's Curiosities
In this article I interviewed fellow Canadian (and Ontarian), Melissa Hamel-Smith to get the scoop on how she's able to successfully market her handmade creations. She had lots of tips for us so you'll want to check them out.

3. Ins and Outs of Blogging
This was Libby's submission of the week and perfect for those who want to know more about blogging for their small business. Libby's a real marketing guru and we're so lucky to have her in our department. This article is only part 1 of the "Ins and Outs of Blogging" series so stay tuned for the next installment.

4. Writing a Good Listing for Your Item
Libby's second article of the week points out how important it is to write a good listing for your handmade items. This is one of the most important features of your item (next to the pictures) when selling online. Check out this awesome article by Libby to make sure you're doing your items justice with their listings!

5. Email Marketing
This was my second submission of the week and think every online seller needs to be hip to email marketing. Not only is it free, but it doesn't take much time! Anything that's free and doesn't consume a lot of your time is worth checking out. Head over to this article to see if your email marketing stategies make the grade.

Stay tuned to the Marketing Department of Handmade News to make sure you don't miss a single article! Your business depends on a few vital things and marketing is certainly one of them. We know you'll find something helpful every week from our team and can't wait to hear your feed back.
